ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to set right the survey number in the document registered in the years 1956, 1964 and 1983.

2. It is the case of the writ petitioner that there is a mistake while registering the documents of the years 1956, 1964 and 1983, however, the revenue officials have given patta to the correct survey numbers. Hence, seeks a direction.

3. With the consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal in the admission stage itself.

4. At the outset, this Court is of the view that such direction cannot be given. Once the document is already registered with description relating to the survey number, now, as a matter of right, a mandamus cannot be sought. If at all the petitioner wants to establish the identity of the property, it is for him to establish by way of civil suit. This Court is of the firm view that the registering authorities have no power to correct the survey numbers, that too relating to the documents registered long back.

5. Such view of the matter, I do not find any merits in the case and this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
