By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner has come up with the present writ petition for a mandamus, directing the first respondent to dispose of her appeal dated 15.3.2016 in relation to payment of pension for the qualifying service rendered by her as a staff in the second respondent school from 1.1.1996 to 31.7.2014 in accordance with law with specific reference to the Tamil Nadu Pension Rules, 1978 and payment of interest for pay arrears. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Though very many contentions have been raised in the affidavit filed in support of the petition, since the scope of the prayer is very limited i.e., seeking a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the appeal of the petitioner dated 15.3.2016 in relation to payment of pension for the qualifying service rendered by her as a staff in the second respondent school from 1.1.1996 to 31.7.2014, I am of the opinion, it is not necessary for this Court to traverse the entire averments made in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and it would be appropriate to direct the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 15.3.2016.

4. Accordingly, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 15.3.2016 on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
