ORDER

Heard Mr.Keerthi Kiran Murali, learned counsel for the petitioner ; and Mr.S.V.Durai Solaimalai, learned Additional Government Pleader accepting notice for the respondent; and with their consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner, in this writ petition, seeks for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to dispose of petitioner's application for transfer of patta dated 24.05.2017 and grant the transfer of patta of the petitioner's land at Survey No.216/1 and 216/2, TS No.103, Block No.1 of Kannur Village, Old No.65/1, New No.16, 9th street, Baba Nagar, Villivakkam, Chennai from Tulasiraman to the petitioner. The petitioner's grievance is that in spite of his https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

application for transfer of patta, having been submitted on 21.05.2016 and there is a statutory enactment enacted by the Government of Tamil Nadu, fixing time limits for considering such applications, in utter breach of statutory requirements, the respondent has put the petitioner's application in cold storage and this necessitated the petitioner to approach this Court.

Mr.S.V.Durai Solaimalai, learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing for the respondent, on instructions, would submit that the application given by the petitioner would be considered within a period of 30 days and the delay has occasioned on account of the bifurcation of the Taluk. The submission is taken on record.

In the light of the above, there will be a direction to the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 24.05.2016 for grant of patta and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
