This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 23.02.2024 and 05.08.2024 wherein the petitioner is seeking for providing employment in the Government / Public Sector as per G.O.Ms.No.656 dated 29.06.1978.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the 1st respondent. 3.The case of the petitioner is that his family was owning certain lands and the same was acquired by the Salem Steel Plant. The Government of Tamil Nadu issued G.O.Ms.No.656 dated 29.06.1978, whereby a scheme was introduced to provide employment to those persons who are displaced due to such acquisition. When the petitioner's father was alive, he has been making repeated representations. However, he was not provided with any employment on the ground that he did not have sufficient educational qualification.

4.The petitioner started making representations to the respondents seeking for employment based on G.O.Ms.No.656 dated 29.06.1978. Since, the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

5.The petitioner has also relied upon the earlier order that was passed by this Court in W.P.No.22874 of 2019 dated 30.09.2019 where some other person who is similarly placed, approached this Court and this Court placed reliance upon the Government Order and stated that it is for the concerned petitioner to approach the District Collector and seek for job.

6.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 05.08.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law and take a decision within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and convey the same to the petitioner. 7.The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the 1st 3/5

respondent along with all the relevant documents and a copy of this order. 8.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
