PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., to call for the records pertaining to the FIR in Crime No.7 of 2019, dated 06.05.2019 on complaint dated 13.02.2019 on the file of the 1st respondent Police and quash the same as illegal and incompetent by allowing the present Criminal Original Petition.

O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed challenging the FIR in Crime No.7 of 2019 for the alleged offences under Sections 498(A), 506(1) and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.

2. The petitioners are the husband and in-laws of the defacto complainant. The matter was referred to the Mediation Centre and a compromise arrived at between the parties before the Mediation Centre. The Mediation Centre had sent its report along with the Joint Compromise Memo, dated 24.02.2023, duly signed by the first petitioner and the second respondent and their respective counsels. As per the said compromise, the defacto complainant has agreed to withdraw the case in FIR No.7 of 2019 and the domestic violence proceedings filed against the petitioners. 2/4

3. In view of the compromise arrived at between the parties, the impugned FIR in Cr.No.7 of 2019 dated 06.05.2019 is quashed. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. The Joint Memo of Compromise shall form an integral part of this order. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
