This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to register the complaint dated 22.12.2015 and investigate the same in accordance with law.
2. The petitioner is aged 55 years and the resident of Jayaram Nagar in Nerkundram. She is having two sons and they are studying in college. The husband was a coolie worker, earning meagre income. On 04.10.2015, at about 8.00 p.m., while the petitioner was standing in front of her house, two unknown persons, came in a two wheeler driving the same in a rash and negligent manner and hence, she warned them to drive slowly. While so, one Selvam, resident of the same street, started to quarrel with the petitioner stating that she need not teach them how to drive the vehicle. In the said wordy quarrel, they abused her in filthy language and also assaulted her with hands. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the respondent police. Since no action has been taken so far, the present petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.
4. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the petitioner to give a fresh complaint to the respondent police along with a copy of this order within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the respondent police is directed to conduct an enquiry on the complaint given by the petitioner and upon enquiry, if the materials are gathered indicating any cognizable offence, he is directed to proceed further in accordance with law.
