ORDER
(Order of the court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH, J.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.A.Tamilvanan, learned Government Advocate (Puducherry), who is directed to take notice on behalf of the respondent.
2. The writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 23.12.2015, thereby directing them to issue community certificate recognising the petitioner as Scheduled Caste (Adhi Dravidar) within a period stipulated by this court.
3. According to the petitioner, he and his family are permanent residents of Puducherry and they belong to Hindu Adhi Dravidar (Scheduled Caste) and on completion of his 10th https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
standard, when he was about to join 11th standard, he was insisted to submit the caste certificate and thereby, he approached the respondent by way of his application dated 23.12.2015, but, since no action is taken upon such application, he was constrained to join a tutorial college. Therefore, now he seeks for issuance of a community certificate to enable him to join a regular school.
4. It is for the respondent-authority to issue necessary community certificate, after proper verification, within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt or production of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
