Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein the High Court will be pleased to extend the time to execute the bail bond by another two weeks from the receipt of the copy of the order passed in Crl.MP.No.5452 of 2020 in C.A.No.362/2020 dated 18/12/2020. Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and upon hearing the arguments of M/S GOPI Advocate for M/S.T.MURUGANANTHAM, Advocate for the petitioner and of MR.S.SUGENDRAN, Govt. Advocate (Crl. Side) on behalf of the Respondent the court made the following order:- (This case has been heard through Video conference) The petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking to extend the time to execute the bail bond by another two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order passed in Crl.M.P.No.5452 of 2020 in Crl.A.No.362 of 2020 dated 18.12.2020.
2. Mr.Gopi, Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the appeal has been filed in Crl.A.No.362 of 2020 against the conviction and sentence passed by the Special Judge for EC/NDPS Act cases in III Additional District Judge, Salem in C.C.No.19 of 2017 dated 31.01.2020, the petitioner had moved the petition for suspension of sentence in Crl.M.P.No.5452 of 2020 and this Court, by an order dated 18.12.2020, was pleased to grant suspension of sentence with a condition that the petitioner shall execute a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- with two sureties each of a likesum to the satisfaction of the Trial Court within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of that order.

He would further submit that despite, the order being granted on 18.12.2020, the petitioner is unable to come out of prison and he was unable to communicate with his family members and due to the covid pandemic period, the petitioner's family members were unable to arrange for sureties and to produce them within 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of that order, and thereby, the present petition has been filed seeking for extension of time.
4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that the petitioner has been granted suspension of sentence on 18.12.2020 with the condition to execute a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- with two sureties within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of the above order.
5. Heard the Counsel and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, time granted by this Court in Crl.M.P.No.5452 of 2020 in Crl.A.No.362 of 2020 by an order dated 18.12.2020 is extended by further period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of the order. -sd/- 07/01/2022 This order, on being produced, be punctually observed and carried into execution by all concerned TRUE COPY Sub-Assistant Registrar (Statistics/C.S.)
