Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation at 25.04.2023 as per the provisions at the Street Vendors (Protection of livelihood Regulation )Act, 2014, made for granting permission/certificate of vending and till such time not to disturb with the running of the petitioner's bunk shop at running bunk at No.Egmore Railway Station North Side, Whannels Road, Egmore, Chennai600 008, adjoining the compound wall of St.Andrews Church, Egmore wherein selling juice, tea, coffee and food items by using LPG Gas Stove. 1/4

Mrs.P.T.Ramadevi, learned Standing Counsel (GCC) takes notice for the respondents.

2.The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to consider her representation dated 25.04.2023 in the light of the provisions of Street Vendors (Protection of livelihood Regulation) Act 2014 and pass necessary orders.

3.It is the case of the petitioner that she is an illiterate and unemployed women, running a bunk shop near Egmore Railway Station North side, Whannels Road, Egmore Chennai -600 008, adjoining the Compound Wall of St. Andrews Church, Egmore. The petitioner is engaged in selling of tea, coffee and food items. The petitioner is managed to eke out a living by the income 2/4

derived from running the above said shop.

4.It is stated by the petitioner that she submitted a representation to the respondents on 25.04.2023, seeking license to run the bunk shop. However, no proof has been produced by the petitioner for having submitted the representation. In view of the same, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation to the 2nd respondent seeking permission for running the bunk shop within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On submission of such representation, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the same and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of submission of the representation. 5.With this direction, the writ petition stands disposed.
