The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to regularize the petitioners' services on completion of 10 years of daily wage services in the light of G.O.No.494, Agriculture (VeNi1) Department, dated 29.11.2007, within the time frame to be stipulated by this Court.
2.The case of the petitioner is that all the petitioners entered into service in State Horticulture Farms, Karumanthurai and Sirumalai, as daily wage workers from 1997 onwards. Though, they have worked for nearly 25 years, till date, their services are not regularized. A representation dated 22.08.2019 has also been sent to the respondents for regularization of their services, however, the same is still pending without any decision being taken in this regard. As against the inaction of the respondents, the petitioners have come forward to file this writ petition.
3.Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents.
4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, it would suffice if a direction be issued to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 22.08.2019 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioners, as expeditiously as possible and in any event, not beyond a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
