This Court by order dated 12.06.2024 had passed a condition order directing the petitioner to pay 50% of the arrears of maintenance at the rate of Rs.20,000/- per month within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order and the remaining 50% arrears shall be paid within a period of four weeks thereafter, directed the petitioner to continue to pay the maintenance amount on or before 5th of every English calendar month. This petition is filed to extend the time for payment of arrears.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner had filed a copy application and received the certified copy of the order on 14.08.2024. When the petitioner had filed a memo in compliance with the order of this Court, the same not accepted and the learned Family Judge, Chennai directed payment of the entire arrears amount as the four weeks time from the date of receipt of the order copy lapsed, the receiving date construed from the date of uploading the order copy, which was uploaded on 18.06.2024. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the same time for payment of arrears may be extended.

3.In view of the submissions petitioner received the certified copy only on 14.08.2024, this Court is inclined to grant four more weeks time from 30.08.2024 to pay the remaining 50% of the arrears amount. This petition is ordered accordingly.
