This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the representation made 1/4

by the petitioner dated 15.06.2024 wherein the petitioner has sought for reviewing the order of suspension passed against him on 13.04.2024.

2. Heard Mr.M.Muthappan, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.G.Velu, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondent.

3. The petitioner was serving as a Junior Assistant in the office of Poonamallee Panchayat Union from 2016 onwards. He was thereafter promoted as an Assistant in the year 2019. A criminal case came to be registered in Crime No.1 of 2024 by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption. The petitioner was also arrayed as an accused. By order dated 13.04.2024, the petitioner was placed under suspension under Rule 17(2)(e) of Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules.

4. The petitioner made a representation dated 15.06.2024 to the respondent to revoke the order of suspension by raising various grounds. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions. 2/4

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.06.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondent along with all relevant documents and also a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
