3. Petitioner is accused of offence u/s.138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act on the file of learned Judicial Magistrate, Rasipuram. Contending that the Court at Chennai alone had jurisdiction since no part of the cause of the action arose at Rasipuram, the present petition has been filed seeking quash of proceedings in C.C.No.224 of 2012 on the file of learned Judicial Magistrate, Rasipuram. Admittedly, cheque has been presented at Salem and the presentation of the cheque is within the jurisdiction of the Court wherein the complaint has been filed.
