Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent herein to direct the 2nd respondent to rectify the mistake of entering 4th Grade instead of 6th Grade done by 2nd Respondent in their portal in respect of the petitioner's son V.Sai Jaideep and thus allow him to continue his studies at 3rd respondent's school in 7th Grade for the academic year 2025-26 by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 08.07.2025. By consent of both the learned counsel for the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.

The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent herein to direct the 2nd respondent to rectify the mistake of entering 4th Grade instead of 6th Grade done by 2nd Respondent in their portal in respect of the petitioner's son V.Sai Jaideep and thus allow him to continue his studies at 3rd respondent's school in 7th Grade for the academic year 2025-26 by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 08.07.2025.

3. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 4 would submit that the respondents 2 and 3 come under the purview of the Director of Private Schools, School Education Department,College Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai - 600 006. Hence, the concerned Authority is ordered to be impleaded suo motu as party respondent in the writ petition and the learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the newly impleaded 4th respondent.

5. The Registry is directed to make necessary amendment in the present writ petition.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's son by name V.Sai Jaideep was studying in 2nd respondentSchool and after that on getting Transfer Certificate, the petitioner admitted his son in the 3rd respondent-School. But the petitioner's son could not pursue his education in the 3rd respondent-School on the ground that in the portal of 3/6

the 2nd respondent, they entered the educational qualification of the petitioner's son as 4th Standard instead of 6th Standard. It is the submission of the petitioner that to rectify such mistake, the petitioner has sent a representation to the respondents 1 and 2 on 08.07.2025.

At this juncture, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 4 would submit that the proper and competent authority to consider the petitioner's representation is the newly added authority viz., Director of Private Schools, School Education Department,College Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai - 600 006.

Therefore, this Court is of the firm view that instead of passing any order based upon the representation of the petitioner already given to the 1st respondent, would like to give liberty to the petitioner to give a fresh representation to the newly added Authority viz., Director of Private Schools, School Education Department, College Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai - 600 006, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of copy of this order. If such representation is received, the 4th respondent/Director of Private Schools, after affording opportunity to the respondents 2 and 3, is 4/6

directed to consider the same and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a further period of two weeks thereafter.

9. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 24.07.2025 Index : Yes/No Speaking order /Non Speaking Order dm Note:The Registry is directed to issue order copy after carrying out necessary amendment in the cause-title, immediately.
