JUDGMENT

(Order of the Court was made by P.VELMURUGAN, J.) This intra-court appeal has been filed against the order passed by the learned Single Judge of this Court in Cont.P.No.2635 of 2023 dated 31.07.2024. Today, when the matter is called for hearing, the learned counsel for the 2 / 4

appellant would submit that the Division Bench of this Court, while disposing of the connected appeals filed by the other broadcasters, arising out of the common order dated 27.04.2023 in batch of Civil Miscellaneous Appeals, held that contempt jurisdiction cannot be invoked to enforce alleged monetary liability, when the original judgment does not quantify the amount payable and the proper remedy, if any, lies only under Section 75 of the Copyright Act, 1957 and further Civil Appeals are pending before the Hon'ble Supreme Court and this Court cannot issue any directions in the contempt petitions.

In view of the above judgment dated 10.12.2025 by the Division Bench of this Court, This Letters Patent Appeal stands closed. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
