ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus seeking for a direction to the first respondent to consider the name of the petitioner for the post of Office Assistant under the second respondent based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.07.2022 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. Mr.L.S.M.Hasan Fizal, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 & 2 and Mr.G.Nanmaran, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the third respondent. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal in the admission stage itself.
3. The petitioner claims that she is an orphan and destitute widow who belongs to scheduled caste. According to her, she has completed tenth standard. According to her, the second respondent called for the priority list from the concerned employment office and the third respondent forwarded the petitioner's name for the post of Office Assistant to the second respondent by proceedings dated 18.02.2022. Subsequently, the second respondent called the petitioner to participate in the interview which took place on 28.05.2022 2/6
by proceedings dated 13.05.2022.
4. According to the petitioner, on 28.05.2022, she participated in the interview and produced all the original certificates. However, according to the petitioner, she was not selected for the post, though she has got all the requisite qualifications. According to the petitioner, an ineligible candidate who is not in the priority list has got appointment orders in her favour, however, the petitioner has not got appointment orders. According to the petitioner, the Office Assistant is allotted only in the priority category. The petitioner has given a representation on 07.07.2022 requesting the respondents 1 & 2 to appoint her in the post of Office Assistant. Since her representation has not been considered till date, this writ petition has been filed.
5. Heard Mr.K.Murugesan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.L.S.M.Hasan Fizal, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 & 2 and Mr.G.Nanmaran, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the third respondent.
6. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's 3/6
representation dated 07.07.2022 is considered on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
7. For the foregoing reasons, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the second respondent to pass final orders on the petitioner's representation dated 07.07.2022 seeking for appointment to the post of Office Assistant under the second respondent, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
8. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
