Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to halt any further disposal/demolition of our Union Office located in Field No. 531, Pungathur Village, Tiruvallur District. For Petitioner :

ORDER

This writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the respondents to halt any further disposal/demolition of the petitioner's our Union Office located in Field No. 531, Pungathur Village, Tiruvallur District.

2. It is seen that the building in question had been demolished 2/5

even when the matter is listed for admission and a school building has been constructed in the said premises. However, it is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the land in question had been alloted to them by the then District Collector, Chengalpet District, Saidapet by order in T.Dis.No.27306-61-B-12 dated 26.11.1961 and in the said order, it has been clearly stated that in the event of the Government acquiring the land, the petitioner is entitled to compensation as set out in Clause 6 therein.

3. In view of the above, the writ petition has become infructuous. It is open to the petitioner to move a necessary application before the authorities concerned who shall consider and pass orders. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
