Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the first respondent to correct and issue Mark Statement, Transfer Certificate and provisional certificate in the name " K.S.SATHIS KUMAR' as notified in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazettee dated 01.08.1990, instead of "S.SATHEESH KUMAR".

Heard Mr.K.Sudalaikannu, learned counsel is appearing for the petitioner and Mr.O.R.Mahesvaren, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondents and with the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2.The grievance of the petitioner is that his correct name has not been mentioned in the Identity Card issued by the P.T.Lee Chengalvaraya Naicker Polytechnic College, for the parttime Diploma Course, applied by him, though the petitioner has changed his name as K.S.Sathis Kumar and the same was published in the Government Gazettee on 01.08.1990.
3.However the request made by the petitioner for correction of his name in the 10th standard Mark Statement cannot be acceded to as the petitioner completed the 10th standard much prior to the correction of the name. But, when the degree certificate was issued in 1994, his correct name has been mentioned.
4.The petitioner is employed in the third respondent Transport Corporation and pursuing a Part-Time Diploma Course in the second respondent Polytechnic College. The petitioner's request is that the second respondent College while giving the Identity Card should have adopted the name of the petitioner as published in the Tamil nadu Government Gazette dated 01.08.1990. 5.In the light of the above, there will be a direction to the petitioner to give a fresh representation to the second respondent along with copy of this order and the copy of the representation dated 02.03.2016 immediately and on receipt of the same second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's change of name as notified in the Tamil lNadu Government Gazette dated 01.08.1990 and make necessary corrections in his educational records.
