ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence under Section 4(1)(i) and 4(1)(aa) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act in Crime No.167 of 2021, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 179 bottles of TASMAC liquors, without any bill. Hence, the complaint.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 179 bottles of TASMAC liquors, without any bill. He further submitted that there are five previous cases pending against the petitioner and the investigation is at initial stage. 5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the fact that there are five previous cases pending against the petitioner and the investigation is at initial stage and the petitioner is involved in a very serious offence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
