the direct recruitment of Assistant Professor (Pre Law) in Government Law College 2017 - 18 dated 14.05.2019 of the 3rd respondent and quash the same in so far as the declaration of the results for the post of Assistant Professor (Pre Law) in the subject of Economics as 'not available' and consequently direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to appoint the petitioner as Assistant Professor (Pre Law) in Economics in any of the Government Law Colleges in Taiml nadu.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that this writ petition is infructuous, as the writ petitioner was aged 45 years in 2019 when the writ petition was instituted. Even assuming the petitioner succeeds today, he would be far over the age limit for appointment as Assistant Professor (Pre Law). Recording this position, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks modification in order dated 09.02.2026, as it commences by saying that learned counsel for the petitioner had submitted that the Writ Petition is infructuous.
3. Mr.N.G.R.Prasad, who appears for the petitioner does not dispute even today that the matter is infructuous. However, in light of the request, order dated 09.02.2026 shall now read as follows: Both learned counsel suggest that this writ petition is infructuous, as the writ petitioner was aged 45 years in 2019, when the writ petition was instituted (52 as on date).
