Respondents PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider petitioner's representation dated 26.7.2016 and to initiate appropriate action for declaring the post of the Chairman of the Thirunindravur Town Panchayat as one reserved for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, in the ensuing elections in compliance of Section 3-W-4(a) of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920. (Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) On hearing the learned counsel for the parties, we direct that the first respondent will bestow consideration on the representation of the petitioner dated 15.7.2016, followed by another representation dated 26.7.2016, qua reservation of the seat and take necessary decision prior to the announcement of the election process.
