O R D E R

This petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.4 of 2013 on the file of the Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Land Grabbing Cases, Tiruppur.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate for the first respondent Police and the learned counsel for the second respondent.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that without going into the merits of the case, it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the trial Court to expedite the trial and complete the same as early as possible.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the first respondent Police submits that the petitioner has already filed Crl.O.P.No.981 of 2013 for the same relief, which was disposed of by this Court on 27.01.2020.

5. Considering the earlier order that has been passed by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.981 of 2013, this Court directs the Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Land Grabbing Cases, Tiruppur, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.4 of 2013 and complete the same within a period of eight months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 11.03.2024 NCC: Yes / No Index : Yes / No Speaking Order : Yes / No vji
