O R D E R

The prayer sought for herein is for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to take appropriate action with regard to the petitioner's representation dated 26.07.2022 for issuance of death certificate. 1 / 4

2. The petitioner's mother died in the year 2020 ie., on 06.12.2020 and in order to get the death certificate, though the petitioner had approached the respondent Chennai Corporation, the death certificate has so far not been given and in this regard he has given a written representation on 26.07.2022 and that was also since not been considered, he has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.

3. Heard Mr.M.Vishnu Venkatesh, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms.P.T.Ramadevi, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Corporation.

4. Learned Standing Counsel for the Corporation would submit that the representation of the petitioner would be considered and orders would be passed thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

5. Having regard to the said submission made by the learned Standing Counsel and taking into account the innocuous nature of the prayer sought for in this writ petition, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following order.

" That there shall be a direction to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.07.2022 and pass orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
