provide adequate police protection i.e., police bandobust for the Muthumariamman Temple yearly Kozhu distribution Functions along with the cultural programme like Pattu Katcheri, Stage Drama and deity Veethiula from 22.08.2023 to 27.08.2023 in Saram Villge, Tindivanam Taluk, Villupuram District.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to call for the undated letter issued by the sub-Inspector of Police, Olakkur Police Station, Tindivanam Taluk rejecting the police Bandobust i.e. Police protection received by the petitioner on 21.08.2023 and quash the same and further direction to the respondents to provide adequate police protection i.e., police bandobust for the Muthumariamman Temple yearly Kozhu distribution Functions along with the cultural programme like Pattu Katcheri, Stage Drama and deity Veethiula from 22.08.2023 to 27.08.2023 in Saram Villge, Tindivanam Taluk, Villupuram District.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the respondent and also perused the materials available on record. Page No.2/4

3. In the considered view of this Court, there is no question of involving the police in the temple festival dispute. If the concerned persons are not able to conduct the temple festival in a peaceful manner, it is not necessary for conducting such a temple festival. Therefore, this Court finds no merits in this petition.
