PRAYER Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to dispose the representation made by the petitioner on 24.12.2024 by taking necessary action to remove the grill gate set up by the 3rd and 4th respondents illegally by obstructing the public road to the village people within a time frame.

With the consent of both the learned counsels, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2.The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 24.12.2024, and consequently, take necessary action to remove the grill gate put up by the
respondents 3 and 4 illegally on the public road, within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.
3.The petitioner is an agriculturist having agricultural lands within Valavanur Town Panchayat. The petitioner states that for the past several years, the petitioner and the other villagers used to access their agricultural lands by using the road laid down with the help of NABARD Bank in S.No.580/1C and S.No.580/2B to an extent of 12 feet width and 300m length. According to the petitioner, the road connects the agricultural lands belonging to more than 20 members from Eduthupottan Colony to Kanniyakulam. The petitioner states that while so, the respondents 3 and 4 illegally and high handedly obstructed the public road by putting up a grill gate. The petitioner therefore submitted a representation on 24.12.2024, to the respondents 1 and 2 to remove the grill gate put up by the respondents 3 and 4.
As no action was taken, the petitioner has filed the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief. 4.Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record. 5.
24.12.2024, on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to state that the 1st respondent shall afford opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as to the respondents 3 and 4 while considering the petitioner's representation. 6.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction.
