ORDER

(Order of the court was made by R. MAHADEVAN, J.) This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.07.2023, thereby allowing him to enroll as an advocate before the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that after completion of law degree, he submitted an application seeking enrollment as an Advocate, before the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, enclosing all the relevant documents during January 2023, however, the said application was pending without any consideration. On enquiry, the petitioner came to know that his application for enrollment was withheld by the respondents, citing pendency of a criminal case in Puliyarai P.S. Crime No.212/2020 for the offences under Sections 341, 294(b), 323, 324 and 506(1) IPC registered against the petitioner and two others. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 25.07.2023, requesting to consider his application seeking enrollment, which was not considered, till date. Finding no option, the petitioner is before this court with the present writ petition for the aforesaid relief. 2/4

3. Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel taking notice for the respondents, submitted that the respondent authorities would consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, on merits, within a time frame to be stipulated by this court.

4. In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.07.2023 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
