ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus seeking for a direction to the first respondent to pass appropriate orders for appointment of the petitioner on compassionate grounds in a suitable post in TANGEDCO commensurate with his educational qualification on account of the medical invalidation of the petitioner's father K.Karthikeyan with effect from 09.05.2013, while he was working as a line inspector in Chengalpattu E.D.Circle, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. Mr.P.Subramanian, learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal in the admission stage itself.
3. According to the petitioner, his father K.Karthikeyan was working as a line inspector in Chengalpattu E.D.Circle. According to him, his father 2/6
became medically invalidated with effect from 09.05.2013. In such circumstances, the petitioner has sought for compassionate appointment. According to the petitioner, the proposal to appoint the petitioner in TANGEDCO on compassionate basis was also sent by the second respondent to the first respondent and based on the said proposal, certain clarifications were also sought for by the first respondent from the second respondent with regard to the petitioner's appointment. However, according to the petitioner, till date, the proposal submitted by the second respondent to the first respondent seeking for appointment of the petitioner in TANGEDCO on compassionate basis has not been considered. The petitioner has filed a communication dated 15.10.2020 sent by the first respondent to the second respondent along with this writ petition which indicates that the petitioner's appointment on compassionate basis is under consideration.
4. Heard Mr.J.Muthukumaran, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Subramanian, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.
5.No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if a direction is 3/6
issued to the first respondent to pass final orders on the second respondent's proposal seeking for appointment of the petitioner on compassionate basis within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the first respondent to pass final orders on the second respondent's proposal which has been admitted by the first respondent in his communication dated 15.10.2020 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
7. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
