ORDER
This petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent police to provide police protection to the petitioner and his family members based on the complaint given by the petitioner on 02.08.2019.
2.It is seen from records that the son of the petitioner had developed a relationship with one Priyanka who belongs to a different caste. Both of them had eloped on 21.06.2019. The relatives and the persons belonging to the community of the girl had visited the place of the petitioner and had caused serious threat and therefore the petitioner was forced to stay at Bengaluru. Subsequently, the whereabouts of the son of the
petitioner and the girl was also traced and on enquiry the police came to know that both of them had gone on their own and there was no kidnapping as alleged by the relatives of the girl. 3.While so, on 24.07.2019, a group of persons had come to the place of the petitioner and they started indiscriminatively attacking the petitioner and the petitioner sustained very serious injuries and he was given first aid treatment at Bengaluru. A complaint was also given before the appropriate police station and an FIR came to be registered in Crime No.168 of 2019 at Bengaluru.
4.The petitioner thereafter came back to his native place along with his family and again the threat from the girl's side continued and the petitioner left with no other option had given complaint before the respondent police on 02.08.209 seeking for police protection. Since no action has been taken, the present petition has been filed for appropriate direction. 5.Heard, the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent police.
6.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to immediately call the parties for an enquiry and give very specific instructions to the counter parties not to cause any threat or indulge in violence against the petitioner and his family members. If any threat is exerted or if the counter parties indulging any violence, action shall be taken against them immediately and if necessary, police protection shall also be granted to the petitioner and his family members. 7.This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
