The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider his representation dated 22.09.2022 seeking issue of patta in respect of land situated in Survey No.128C/1, Mambakkam Village, Kolathoor Road, Chennai-600 127.

2. According to the petitioner, his father was an ex-servicemen and he has been in possession and enjoyment of the above said land for the past 60 years. He submitted a representation dated 22.09.2022 to the respondents 1 and 2 seeking issue of patta by considering the status of his father as an exservicemen and the same has not been considered by the respondents 1 and 2 till date. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Mr.P.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader, who is taking notice for the respondents would submit that assignment of lands within the Chennai City Limit is already barred. Therefore, there is a difficulty in considering the request of the petitioner positively.

4. In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner and also submission made 2/4

by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, this Court is inclined to direct the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.09.2022 and pass final orders on its own merit, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
