Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing the Third to Fifth Respondents from conducting festival of Sri Arulmighu Muthu Mariamman Temple, Pukkiravari Village, Kallakurichi Taluk, which is scheduled to be held on 27.08.2019 to 12.09.2019, contrary to the resolution passed by the Peace Committee held on 22.08.2019.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed by the Petitioner to forbear the Third to Fifth Respondents from conducting festival of Sri Arulmighu Muthu Mariamman Temple, Pukkiravari Village, Kallakurichi Taluk, which is scheduled to be held on 27.08.2019 to 12.09.2019, contrary to the resolution passed by the Peace Committee held on 22.08.2019.

It is brought to the notice of this Court by the Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the First to Third Respondents that there has been another meeting of the Peace Committee on 27.08.2019 presided by the Sub-Collector, Kallakurichi, in which all the parties have agreed to conduct the festival without conferring first honours to any of the rival groups. The Fourth and Fifth Respondents have also expressed that they do not have any objection for the conduct of the festival and their Learned Counsel has also made an endorsement to that effect. Nothing remains for further consideration in this Writ Petition.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed recording the aforesaid subsequent developments. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
