Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other writ or order or direction in the nature of writ, directing the respondents to correct the petitioner's date of birth as 01-071992 instead of 20-05-1989 found place in his S.S.L.C. Heard Mr.A.Rajesh Kanna, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.N.Thambi Durai, learned Special Government Pleader accepting notice on behalf of the respondents and with the consent on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner seeks for correction of his Date of Birth in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate [SSLC Certificate] issued during March 2014 and September 2014. The petitioner's case is that his correct Date of Birth as per the Birth Certificate and the Transfer Certificate is 01.07.1992. But, it has been wrongly mentioned in the SSLC Certificate as 20.05.1989. It appears that the petitioner is a school dropout and did not notice this mistake. But, now when the petitioner wants to get an employment, he is facing certain problems. In this regard, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 31.03.2016 for which a reply was sent from the Directorate of Government Examinations, on 26.04.2016 directing the petitioner to produce the required Certificate from the Headmaster of the School and submit the application. It appears that the petitioner has not complied with the same.

Hence, the writ petition stands disposed of by directing the petitioner to comply with the directions issued in the communication of the Directorate of Government Examinations, dated 26.04.2016, obtain requisite certificate from the 4th respondent / School and then submit an application which shall be considered in accordance with law by the 3rd respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date on which the application is submitted, complete in all respects.
