Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.07.2024 to cancel the patta No.4727 in favour of the fourth respondent bearing Survey No.155/1A, and 54-B to an extent of 0.14.5 ares situated at Sevilimedu Village, Kancheepuram District. 1/5

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to consider his representation dated 12.07.2024 to cancel the patta No.4727 issued in the name of the fourth respondent in respect of the property situated in S.Nos.155/1A and 54-B with an extent of 0.14.5 ares at Sevilimedu Village,
2. According to the petitioner, the above mentioned property belonged to his grand father namely, Sooran under a registered sale deed dated 30.03.1961 and the said property has been in possession and enjoyment of the petitioner and other legal heirs of the original owner. The respondents 1 & 2, issued patta for the above mentioned property in the name of the fourth respondent, who is the petitioner's brother's wife. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation on 12.07.2024 seeking cancellation of the patta issued in the name of the fourth respondent and the same has not been considered till date. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court. 2/5
3. Mr.D.Gopal, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2 would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered, on its own merits, within a time frame fixed by this Court.
4. In view of the same, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.07.2024 and pass final orders, on its own merits, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, after issuing necessary notice to the petitioner and the fourth respondent.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
