ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to give a petitioner assignment to the land situated in S.No.437 to an extent of 26032 sq.ft, bearing Door No.54, St.Thomas Mount Village, Pallavaram Taluk, Chengalpattu District, Chengalpattu.

2. The case of the petitioner is that she is in possession of the property situated in S.No.437, to an extent of 26032 sq.ft, bearing Door No.54, 2/6

St.Thomas Mount Village, Pallavaram Taluk, Chengalpattu District, Chengalpattu from 27.09.2000 till date. Since, she and her predecessor are in the possession of the subject property, the petitioner made a representation on 12.09.2022 to the respondents 1 to 6 requesting for assignment of land over the subject property which is pending without consideration. Hence, this petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitionier and her predecessors are in the possession of the subject property for more than 180 years. Further, submitted that initially, the petitioner made application before the sixth respondent, which was subsequently recommended to the District Collector, Kancheepuram. Based on the recommendation of the District Collector, the same was forwarded to the second respondent in Na.Ka.No.17113/2012/N2 dated nil.03.2018 which is pending without consideration till date. Hence, the petitioner confined his prayer by seeking this Court for issuance of direction for the secons respondent to conclude the proceedings in Na.Ka.No.17113/2012/N2 dated nil.03.2018 and pass orders within a reasonable time as fixed by this Hon'ble Court. 3/6

4. Heard the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court directs the second respondent to conclude the proceedings which was forwarded by the third respondent in Na.Ka.No.17113/2012/N2 dated nil.03.2018 and pass order(s) on merits and in accordance with law, after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner well as any other interested parties, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 18.10.2022 dhk Index:Yes/No Internet: Yes/No 4/6
