By consent of both the learned counsel for the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.

The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant revised pension considering the 50% of service for the period serve as Village Assistant on consolidated pay from 12.03.1991 to 07.08.2021 along with Petitioner's regular service as Office Assistant from 08.08.2021 to 30.06.2024 for calculating Petitioner's pension as per Tamil Nadu Pension Rules, 1978, and consequently to direct the respondents to send revised pension proposals and to grant revised 2/6
pension to petitioner within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was initially worked as Village Assistant from 12.03.1991 to 07.08.2021 and thereafter, he was promoted as Office Assistant from 08.08.2021 to 30.06.2024. It is the contention of the petitioner that on attaining the age of superannuation, he retired from service on 30.06.2024. Hence, he is entitled for full pension. In this connection, he has sent a representation to the respondents on 26.04.2025 and such representation is pending with the respondents.
5. At this juncture, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that they will consider the petitioner's representation in accordance with law, within a reasonable time. 3/6

In such view of the submission, without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.04.2025 and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
