O R D E R

The Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent-Police to file a Final Report against the accused in accordance with law in connection with the case in Crime No.61 of 2025 on the file of respondent-Police.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

It is seen from the records that the petitioner had given a complaint dated 03.08.2023 alleging that the accused (ST Courier) by forging the signature of his customer namely LA MEDIA, had stolen the parcel, that was sent by the petitioner. The respondent police have not registered the complaint and hence, the petitioner had filed a petition in Crl.M.P.No.7154 of 2024 invoking Section 156(3) Cr.P.C., seeking a direction for registration of FIR and investigation by Police. The learned VII Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town, Chennai, vide order dated 11.11.2024, directed the respondent-Police to register the case based on the complaint of the petitioner dated 03.08.2023 and investigate the 2/5

matter in accordance with law and file a report in the earliest possibilities. Based on the directions of the learned Magistrate, the respondent-Police registered the complaint of the petitioner as Crime No.61 of 2025 on 22.02.2025 for the offences punishable under Sections 316(2), 336(3) and 340(2) of BNS, but the respondent-Police have not filed the final report, so far. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present petition.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances, the respondent-Police is hereby directed to expedite the investigation in Crime No.61 of 2025 and file a final report as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, the Criminal Original Petition shall stand disposed of.
