Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to effect appropriate rectification of error that has crept in the patta that was issued vide No.2024/0153/02/008642TR dated 21.03.2024 for Mullam Village, (Aminjikarai) comprised in Block No.2, besides Naduvakkarai Village, (Aminjikarai) comprised in Block No.1B, 2nd Main Road, Patta No.2024/0153/02/008641TR dated 21.03.2024 by restoring short fall of 259.23 sq.ft., based on the petitioner's representation dated 29.05.2024, within the time frame to be stipulated by this Court. 1/5

The petitioners herein seeks a direction to the respondent to consider his representation dated 29.05.2024 and pass necessary orders for correction of extent in the patta issued to them in Patta No.2024/0153/02/008641TR dated 21.03.2024.

2. According to the petitioners, the above mentioned patta was issued in favour of several persons including the petitioners' vendors Asha Jaffrey and others. In the joint patta issued in the name of the petitioners' vendors and others there is an error in the extent of the land covered by the patta. Therefore, the petitioners submitted a representation dated 29.05.2024 before the respondent seeking correction of extent found in the patta, the same has not been considered. Therefore, the petitioners are before this Court. 2/5

3. Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the first respondent would submit that the representation of the petitioners, will be considered, on its own merits, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

4. In view of the same, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioners, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 29.05.2024 and pass final orders, on its own merits, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
