The petitioner herein seeks police protection alleging that the respondents 4 to 9, who are the accused in Spl.S.C.No.20 of 2021 constantly threatened the petitioner to withdraw the complaint and in fact the case is posted for trial on 03.09.2024. Prior to that, on 09.07.2024, the respondents 3 to 9 threatened the petitioner and the case already been registered against them in Crime No.221 of 2024. 2.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that due to communal dispute, case been registered in Crime No.97 of 2021 with subject matter of Spl.S.C.No.20 of 2021 pending trial. Complaint was given by this petitioner alleging that he was threatened by the respondents, police has registered a case in Crime No. 221 of 2024 and under investigation. There is no threat to the petitioner at present. However, necessary protection will be given to the witnesses during the trial of Spl.S.C.No.20 of 2021. 3.

Petition and undertaking given by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) on behalf of the respondent police, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with direction to the respondent police to give protection to the witnesses in Spl.S.C.No.20 of 2021 on the day on which the petitioner appear to give evidence.
