ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent-Police not to harass the petitioner and her family members under the guise of conducting an inquiry in relation to Cr.No.Not Known of 2025, pending before the E3 Rayakottai Police Station, Krishnagiri District.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, there is no representation for the petitioner.

Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent-Police submitted that, based on the complaint given by one Mr.Ramar, the respondent-Police registered a case as against the petitioner's husband and others in Crime No.145 of 2025 for the offences under Sections 316(2) and 318(4) of the BNS 2023. The accused persons are not co-operating for enquiry/investigation and the respondent-Police has enquired about the whereabouts of the accused. The petitioner, instead of informing about the 2/5

whereabouts of the her husband, she made a representation before the Superintendent of Police and also filed this criminal original petition.

4. On a perusal of the records, it is seen that the petitioner's husband is the accused in Crime No.145 of 2025 on the file of the second respondent-Police. It is the duty of the police to find out the whereabouts of the accused and hence, they enquired about the accused which does not amount to harassment. Hence, the petitioner is directed to co-operate for investigation before the respondentPolice.

5. With the abovesaid direction, this criminal original petition is dismissed.
