Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C., praying to direct the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and his property based on the complaint dated 22.01.2016.

O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and his property based on the complaint dated 22.01.2016.

2. No representation for the petitioner on account of boycott of Courts. However, in Harish Uppal [Ex.Capt.] Vs Union of India, reported in [2003] 2 SCC 45, the Hon'ble Supreme Court has held that boycott of Courts is illegal and therefore, this Court perused the records, heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor and passed orders.

3. Mr.A.Joseph Selvaraj, Inspector of Police, Kanjanur Police Station, Villupuram, has filed status report, wherein it is stated that, there are ongoing disputes between this

petitioner and one Prema and Jaishankar, in connection with which three cases have been registered in Kanjanur Police Station in Crime Nos.176 & 177 of 205 and Crime No.31 of 2016.

4. In the status report, the Inspector of Police, has stated as follows :

"5. It is submitted that during pendency of the above cases, the petitioner's wife Sudha lodged complaint against one Veerappan, who is the President of Nanthivadi Panchayat. Based on the complaint, a case was registered in Kanjanur P.S.Crime No.31/2016, U/s.294(b), 506 (i) IPC against Veerappan and the same is pending for investigation

6. It is submitted that at this stage, the petitioner filed this present petition for direction to the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and his property based on his complaint dated 22.1.2016.

7. It is submitted that after registration of the case against both parties, there is no issues arise between themselves, hence, at this stage, there is no necessity to provide police protection to the petitioner and his property."

5. In view of the above, no direction as prayed for by the petitioner can be passed. However, if there is any threat or aggression to the petitioner in future, it is open to the petitioner to approach the police and seek protection. With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
