ORDER

Heard Mr.G.Ilanthirayan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.C.C.Rangarajan, learned Government Advocate accepting notice for the respondents and with the consent on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. The petitioner seeks for a direction upon the 2nd respondent to consider his application dated 05.02.2016 for sanction of old age pension.

It is seen that the said application is kept pending and therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to the 1st respondent who has directed the 2nd respondent to take note of the petitioner's application dated 05.02.2016 and proceed to grant the old age pension, after taking appropriate action on the application. This Communication was vide Memo dated 10.08.2016. Since no action has been taken for more than a month, the petitioner is before this Court.

In the light of the above, there will be a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 05.02.2016 as well as the direction issued by the 1st respondent dated 10.08.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
