ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to act upon the application submitted by the petitioner on 19.10.2024, wherein the petitioner has sought for the reissuance of passport. 2.The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the 2nd respondent submitted that an FIR is pending in Crime No.715 of 2021, wherein, the petitioner has been arrayed as A3 and the investigation is pending. 3.In the considered view of this Court, a mere pendency of an FIR cannot be a ground to deny the reissuance of passport in favour of the petitioner. The law on this issue is now too well settled.

3/5 4.In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to process the application submitted by the petitioner and reissue the passport, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, if the petitioner has satisfied all the other requirements. 5.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions.
