O R D E R
By consent of both the learned counsel for the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.

The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, directing the Respondents to disburse the 6% interest for belated payment of Provident Fund, Gratuity and earned leave salary amount and consequently direct the Respondents to pay the unsettled benefits of leave surrender amount and last 10 days salary within the stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has joined in the services of the Respondents-Transport Corporation as Traffic Inspector on 26.08.1988 and after rendering 35 years of unblemished service and on attaining the age of superannuation, he retired from service on 30.06.2023 as Traffic Inspector. The learned counsel for the 2/6
petitioner would submit that though he retired from service during 2023, the respondents settled his terminal benefits belatedly on 16.04.2025. However, no interest has been paid for the belated payment. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that claiming interest for the belated payment and also for other eligible amount, he has sent a representation to the 1st respondent on 06.06.2025 and such representation is pending with the 1st respondent. Therefore, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that they would consider the petitioner's representation according to it's own merits and in accordance with law. The learned Standing Counsel would further submit that as far as interest for the delayed payment is concerned, they will pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount, as ordered in the similar writ petitions in W.P.Nos.40031, 33742 and 35806 of 2024.
6. In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it 3/6
appropriate to direct the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.06.2025 in as far as the other eligible claims and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
7. In respect of interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits, the respondents are directed to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum, from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
8. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 06.08.2025 Index : Yes/No Speaking order /Non Speaking Order dm 4/6
