Respondent in both Writ Petitions Prayer in both Writ Petitions: These Writ Petitions are filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent herein to receive the applications Form CCPA dated 22.08.2016 with prescribed fees and grant the Maxi Cab Permit in respect of the Vehicle Reg.No.TN-18-C-4923 and 18-D-1323 respectively, forthwith. For Petitioner in both Writ Petitions : Mr.A.Ganesan For Respondent in both Writ Petitions : Mr.V.S.Ramesh Government Advocate C O M M O N O R D E R Heard Mr.A.Ganesan, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner in both Writ Petitions and Mr.V.S.Ramesh, learned Government Advocate accepting notice on behalf of the respondent in both Writ Petitions. With the consent of learned counsel appearing on either side, these Writ Petitions are taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioners have filed these Writ Petitions praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to receive the applications in Form CCPA dated 22.08.2016 with prescribed fees and grant the Maxi Cab Permit in respect of the Vehicle Reg.No.TN-18-D-1323 and TN-18-C-4923, respectively, forthwith.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that there is a need for more Maxi Cab on account of the fact that several existing permit holders have stopped their operations and surrendered their Permits.

4. In any event, as the petitioners' Applications have not been received by the respondent, without going into the merits of the case as projected by the petitioners, there will be a direction to the respondent to receive the petitioners' Applications, consider the same and pass order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date on which the Applications are presented, along with the copy of this order.

The Writ Petitions are disposed of on the above terms. No costs.
