This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to call for the records relating to complaint dated 21.01.2016 in C.C.No.1 of 2016, on the file of the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Namakkal and quash the same as against the petitioner.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that based on the defamatory statements made against the Government by the petitioner, the public prosecutor filed complaint for the offence of defamation as against the petitioner and totally four witnesses have been listed, of which, two witnesses now examined, namely PW.1 and 2 and two more witnesses are yet to be examined to complete the trial.

3.In view of the fact that the trial of the case is midway, nothing survives for adjudication. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
