ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to save, secure and give a copy of the CCTV Camera Footage recordings made in the CCTV Cameras installed in the second respondent police station from 07.00 am till 9.00 pm on 31.08.2022 to the petitioner.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that on 30.08.2022, the petitioner's elder brother one Kalimuthu had given a false complaint against the petitioner's husband stating that the petitioner's husband had assaulted him with stone, due to which, he had sustaining injuries. Based on the complaint given by the petitioner's elder brother, the second respondent police had registered a false case against the petitioner's husband and arrested him on 31.08.2022. Thereafter, the petitioner gave a representation before the second respondent police on 19.09.2022 with regard to secure the CCTV footage installed at the second respondent police station for the date i.e., on 31.08.2022 from 07.00 am to 09.00 pm. The same has not been considered by the second respondent. Hence, the present petition has been filed. 2/4
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that they are ready to secure the copy of CCTV Camera Footage recordings on 31.08.2022 from 07.00 am to 09.00 pm. However, the petitioner is not entitled to get the copy from the second respondent.
4. Recording the same, the second respondent is directed to secure the copy of the CCTV footage installed at the second respondent police station for the date i.e., on 31.08.2022 from 07.00 pm to 09.00 pm and produce it before the learned Magistrate at the time of trial.
6. With the above directions, this Writ Petitions stands disposed of. No costs.
