These Writ Petitions have been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to comply with the orders of the Assistant Commissioner of Labour under the provisions of Tamil Nadu Industrial Establishments Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen Act), 1981, to workmen vide order No.E/833/2023 dated 31.05.2024.

2. Heard Ms.Dakshayani Reddy, learned Senior Counsel for the petitioners, Mr.Anand Gopalan, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3. On perusal of the order dated 31.05.2024, it is seen that the appropriate authority has given a relief to the petitioners in terms of the Board Proceedings in B.P.No.11 dated 02.08.2011. Even according to the relief so granted, the respondent was directed to give monetary benefit on and from 02.08.2011.

4. However, the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent submitted that the petitioners have been given with the permanent status after completion of 480 days in 24 months from the date of joining in service and monetary benefit from 04.04.2003 and 15.10.2005 Page No.2 of 4

respectively and hence, there cannot be any grievance for the petitioners.

5. The present Writ Petitions have been filed for seeking direction and not for getting any other relief other than what has been already permitted in the order of the appropriate authority. Since the petitioners have got better benefit than what is sought, there cannot be any further grievance for the petitioners and nothing survives for further consideration in these Writ Petitions.
