ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 07.09.2021 and pay all the terminal benefits due on the date of the petitioner's retirement dated 28.02.2005 with interest.

2. Heard Mr.A.R.Nixon, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.D.Ravichandar, learned counsel for the second respondent.

3. The petitioner was appointed as Revenue Assistant during the year 1968. Since there was no vacancy in the second respondent Municipality, the petitioner was discharged from service and subsequently reinstated in service in the year 1969. The petitioner retired from service on attainment of superannuation on 28.02.2005.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that though he got retired from service on 28.02.2005, the terminal benefits like DCRG, Earned Leave and Unearned Leave Salary were not sanctioned to the petitioner till date. Therefore, the petitioner made several representations in this regard. But Page No.2 of 4

the said representations were not considered by the respondents till date. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court seeking direction to the respondents to consider the last representation of the petitioner dated 07.09.2021 and pass orders.

5. The learned counsel for the second respondent submitted that the petitioner's representation will be considered and orders will be passed shortly.

6. In view of the above submission, this Writ Petition is disposed and the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.09.2021 and pass orders as to the sanction of terminal benefits of the petitioner along with the applicable rate of interest, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
