Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India,
praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the second respondent to cancel the Patta No.7666, issued in respect of the petition property bearing Survey No.335/5, Ponneri - 2 Revenue Village, Ponneri Taluk, Thiruvallur District, measuring 0.42 acres in the name of the respondents 4 to 8 and issue fresh Patta in the name of the petitioner, by considering his representation, dated 21.03.2025, by providing an opportunity of hearing to the parties.

ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. In view of the order that this Court proposes to pass and also the limited relief that is sought to be granted, notice to the respondents 4 to 8 is dispensed with.
2. This Writ Petition is filed, praying for a mandamus to direct the second respondent to cancel Patta No.7666, issued in respect of petition property, bearing Survey No.335/5, Ponneri - 2 Revenue Village, Ponneri Taluk, Thiruvallur District, measuring 0.42 acres, in the name of respondents
4 to 8, and issue fresh Patta in the name of the petitioner, by considering his representation, dated 21.03.2025.
3. Learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the official respondents, would submit that the petitioner ought to have submitted an application before District Revenue Officer regarding his grievance, instead, submitted application before Revenue Divisional Officer.
4. On this being pointed out, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that they would take out an appropriate application before District Revenue Officer and would only seek consideration of the same within a time frame.
5. Learned Special Government Pleader would submit that if any such application is filed, the same would be considered in accordance with law.
6. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to submit an application before District Revenue Officer with regard to his grievance and, on such submission, the District Revenue Officer shall consider the same and
pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to petitioner, respondents 4 to 8, and other interested parties or rival claimants, if any, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of such application.
7. Registry is directed to mark a copy of this order to District Revenue Officer, Thiruvallur, for appropriate action.
8. Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs. 29.07.2025 NCC :
