Contending that on the protest petition filed by the petitioner, the case which was closed as Mistake of Facts by the police, was taken on file by the Judicial Magistrate as C.C.No.236 of 2023, however, there is no progress in the trial and therefore, the present petition is filed seeking direction to the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Jayankondam to dispose the case expeditiously.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that the case is now posted to 07.10.2024 for issuing copies to the accused persons under Section 207 Cr.P.C., (230 BNSS) 3.

Taking note of the fact, the Judicial Magistrate has set the trial into motion. Hence, there is no requirements for making any specific direction fixing the date for completion of trial except to record that the Judicial Magistrate shall ensure the trial gets completed within reasonable time.

With the above said observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of 2/4
