Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent, Additional Director General of Prison, to transfer the petitioner's husband, Life Convict OJCT No.1088, Raja Hussain, Son of Mohamed Ali, from Cuddalore Central Prison to Puzhal Central Prison or to Madurai Central Prison with immediate effect.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondent.

2. The petitioner's husband, Raja Hussain is a life convict ( OJCT No.1088) and this Writ Petition has been filed by the petitionerfor transferring him from Central Prison, Cuddalore to Central Prison, Puzhal or Central Prison, Madurai, for the purpose of giving a treatment to her husband.

3. This Court has directed the Medical Board to examine the convict and submit a report. Accordingly, the learned Additional Government Pleader produced a report, which reads as follows :

"As instructed by Medical Board Govt.

Head Quarters Hospital (GHQH), Cuddalore, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

dated 05.05.2016, he was referred to Govt.

Royapettah Hospital (GRH), Chennai, on 2405-2016 and reviewed by Cardiologist and referred to Govt. Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Chennai.

On 26-05-2016 he was examined at Govt.

Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Chennai. He was diagnosed to have stable Coronary Artery Disease / Diabetes Mellitus and also mentioned that the present chest pain is not likely due to heart disease possibly due to regenerative changes in this spine.

He has been advised to continue Coronary Artery Disease / Diabetes Mellitus drugs regularly and periodically review at GRH, Chennai / GHQH, Cuddalore."

4. In the light of the above, the Superintendent of Central Prison, Cuddalore, is directed to ensure that the petitioner's husband is given sufficient medical treatment at the Government Hospital, Cuddalore in continuation, as stated above.
